A Promise Kept, a Book Discovered

Fifty years ago, my mom made a promise to her grandmother that she would return to Paris. This summer, I got to be there when she kept it. Somewhere between the museums, Notre Dame, and the Eiffel Tower, we found ourselves at Shakespeare and Company, where a stranger picked our next Marked and Mailed read.
