I love the idea of a traditional book club, but the reality? Squeezing in 300 pages by a hard deadline, endless group chat scheduling nightmares, and committing to another evening away from home (or another exhausting Zoom call with kids yelling in the background) felt less like leisure and more like a chore.
We craved those late night conversations that got us through our college years but we were definitely too busy to find an hour to chat individually, let alone all together. Our squad's schedules were too chaotic for regular get-togethers, so we rethought our book club style. We knew there had to be a better way, so we found it! The plot twist ended up being a book club style that lets us read at our own pace with a flexible finish date and at the end of the cycle gives us a keepsake that is a physical reminder of our friendship.

Here is how it works:
Claim Your Color: Every member is assigned a specific, dedicated color for pens and highlighters.
Read & React (No censorship or redactions needed): You choose a book you love and start reading. As you go, use your color to write comments, crack jokes, ask questions, create sketches, or highlight meaningful passages. You write exactly what you would say to your friends if you were sitting poolside in Palm Springs reading out loud together.
Mail the Magic: At the end of the month, pop your book in the mail to the next person on the list and receive a fresh one from someone else.
The Ultimate Keepsake: Once the book has made its rounds through the entire group, it is mailed back to its original owner.
