Finished: Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas on audiobook

You guys… I’m not OK. As I previously mentioned, I just realized that this is the last book in the series that I have been reading for months. I was ill prepared to wake up this morning and not be able to play the audiobook while I’m getting ready for work. I miss Aelin. I miss Lysandra. I miss my hottie Rowan. So spoiler alert in case you haven’t finished: Ms Maas totally had me questioning where Aelin actually was. And all I could think of was no way that I just got invested in the loss and plight of all these characters for what felt like 100 pages when she’s still in that coffin.

It’s incredible how characters she developed in books 1, 2, and 3 are all beautifully interwoven together for the finale, and how little details that she mentioned in her previous books all come back in the end to matter. I think that’s what makes these books so incredible, slight (and huge) interactions that people had with one another years ago have a hand and the outcome.

Yeah, it’s three days later and I’m still not OK. I finished another audiobook already. Almost done with a physical book for book club but I miss my friends from Throne of Glass. I’m hoping that when the next ACOTAR book releases, it will help ease the pain of finishing Throne of Glass. I’ve never been the person that rereads books, unless I’m teaching them in my classes, but fucking hell I might need to reread this series. Actually I’ve just decided I’m going to re-listen to the ACOTAR series before I read book 6.
